Maren Morris Loves Karaoke Night

Country stars are just like us, especially when they admit to singing karaoke. Maren Morris is no exception.

In a recent interview with Cody Alan, Maren shared that karaoke was a big part of discovering music.

“I don’t come from a particularly musical family. My mom loves to sing karaoke, and my dad loves to noodle around on the guitar, but that is one thing that we can all connect to, and that is music.”

“Your mom does karaoke, like at the house... or at the bar?” Cody inquires.

“Both,” laughs Maren. “She has won contests, ugh karaoke contests.”

Maren continues to share that her parents own an Aveda hair salon in Texas and Christmas parties often included karaoke. Maren confesses that she couldn’t resist sneaking into the party to grab the mic.

“I was a really shy kid, but for some reason, I would sneak into the party and put on “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” or something. That’s kind of how I started loving to sing.”

Maren also went on record to admit that she and her mom have a few go-to karaoke songs that they like to pull out. “She loves to sing “Sin Wagon” by the Dixie Chicks and the 4 Non Blondes’ ‘What’s Up?’ But, mine is Beyoncé’s “Halo.”
