Keith Urban Invites Little Girl On Stage To Sing 'Wasted Time' With Him

Keith Urban's heart of gold shined bright during his performance at Stars and Stings in Detroit. The country singer noticed a young girl named Stella in the front row and decided to invite her to join him on stage.

Stars and Strings is a stripped down acoustic concert that honors and celebrates our nation's military heroes and their families. In addition to Urban, this year's show, which was held on Wednesday (November 6), also featured Lady Antebellum, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Ryan Hurd, Jon Pardi and Brett Young. A portion of the proceeds go to Folds of Honor, a generational foundation dedicated to giving back to the families of our nation's heroes.

According to a local radio station in Detroit, Urban was partway through his acoustic set when his acoustic guitar was disconnected from the amp. The talented country singer, however, didn't miss a beat and he continued to sing while kneeling to reconnect the cable himself. That was the moment he also noticed Stella.

Urban beckoned the young fan up to join him on stage where he then held the microphone between the two giving Stella a moment in the spotlight. With Urban's help, she lead the audience in a singalong to the chorus of "Wasted Time," his 2016 hit.

Urban most recently released his "We Were" collaboration with Eric Church. The new duet marks Urban and Church's first time teaming up since 2013's "Raise 'Em Up."

Urban is expected to perform at the 2019 CMA Awards this Wednesday, November 13. He's nominated for two awards this year including Male Vocalist of the Year and the big category of the night, Entertainer of the Year. Other nominees for Entertainer of the Year include Garth Brooks, Church, Chris Stapleton and Carrie Underwood.

The 53rd Annual CMA Awards will broadcast live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, November 13 at 8 p.m. ET.
