Pet Adoption Fees Waived Today & Tomorrow at Nevada SPCA

Looking for love this holiday season? Hundreds of dogs and cats are waiting for you at the Nevada SPCA and other rescue groups in Nevada, where pet adoptions will be free Nov. 16 and 17 during Maddie's® Pet Adoption Days. All adoption fees are waived for pets going to loving new homes thanks to a grant from Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, a private charitable foundation based in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Happening only in Nevada, Maddie's® Pet Adoption Days has a goal of emptying shelters this holiday season, the time of year when more people than ever bring home a pet.

“We are excited to help groups find good homes for the pets in their care,” said Mark Robison, co-executive director of Maddie's® Pet Project in Nevada. “Thanks to the generosity of Dave and Cheryl Duffield Foundation, we will reimburse animal organizations $300 for every cat or dog they adopt during the event so they are able to waive their normal adoption fees.”

The Nevada SPCA is located at 4800 W. Dewey in Las Vegas.  To find a list of additional participating organizations doing pet adoptions near you, visit www.maddiespetprojectnevada.org.

Maddie's® Pet Adoption Days is part of a statewide campaign, Maddie's® Pet Project in Nevada, that aims to elevate the status and well-being of cats and dogs across the state through partnerships that increase adoptions from animal shelters and improve access to veterinary care in underserved areas.

Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation is a private charitable foundation based in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The Duffields are long-time benefactors of companion animal causes, education initiatives and veteran services, and are the founders of Maddie’s Fund®, a leading animal welfare foundation dedicated to revolutionizing the status and well-being of companion animals. They thoughtfully honor the spirit of their dog Maddie in their philanthropy pursuits to thank her for her love and companionship.
