  • Have you ever thought about learning how to shoot a bow? Now is your chance to learn at theClark County Shooting Complex Archery Range! After learning these basic skills you will have a chance to test your skills and shoot using the Genesis bow. The Genesis bow fits almost everyone's style of shooting!

Black History Month Festival at Springs Preserve

  • Springs Preserve is celebrating the contributions of African-Americans to our community with music, food and dance at their 10th annual Black History Month Festival.

Paint with a Ranger at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park

  • 10:00am-12:00pm
  • $10 entry fee to park

  • On this ranger-guided program, participants will go for a walk, find a quiet spot and paint a memory on paper. Park staff will offer basic painting instruction and provide watercolor supplies.

Storytime Train at Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City

  • 10:00am, 11:30am, 1:00pm, 2:30pm 
  • $10 (ages 12+), $5 (children 4-11), 3 and under are FREE

  • Bring the kids (regardless of age) and have a fun time riding the train, coloring, doing a craft, and listening to a children's story. Purchase regular tickets to ride the train and join our Storytime Crew in the dining car of the train, on the regularly scheduled train runs. We furnish the coloring pages and markers, craft materials, and the story. Sit with your kids, have fun, take photos or videos, and watch the beautiful desert scenery from the comfort of our train.

A black bartender in New York City attempts to outwit a white mobster syndicate. The play received the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Charles Gordone's Pulitzer signified two firsts: he was the first African American playwright to receive a Pulitzer, and NO PLACE TO BE SOMEBODY was the first Off-Broadway play to receive the Pulitzer. Java Jaunt: Birds at Clark County Wetlands Park

  • Walk with a Red Rock Audubon Society birding expert and a Wetlands Park nature guide, and learn more about the birds found in and around the Las Vegas Wash. Get to know other bird enthusiasts and learn about birding resources. Be prepared to walk up to two miles. We’ll meet at the Picnic Cafe. Binoculars available to borrow. Advance signup required. Mardi Gras Masquerade Run (5K, 10K, half marathon) at Equestrian Park

  • Join BBSC and participate in this festive Las Vegas Run! Enjoy a beautiful desert sunrise and crisp morning temperatures while you run the River Mountain Loop Trail from Equestrian Park. Enjoy views of the Strip from a distance, and wear your Mardi Gras attire for a chance to win a prize in the costume contest. Race in the Half Marathon distance and enjoy 13.1 miles of scenic rolling trails.

  • Feel the electrifying “twang” of a bowstring. Experience the anticipation as your arrow hangs in the air between you and your target. Watch the smile bloom on your child’s face as their arrow sinks into the bullseye! Spring Mountain Ranch State Park offers archery target shooting programs that conform to National Archery in Schools Program safety standards. We provide all the equipment and training; you only need to bring your curiosity and a sharp eye! No prior archery experience is necessary. This program is recommended for everyone ages ten and older.
