Report: U2 will perform at the new MSG Sphere In Las Vegas

As the MSG Sphere venue has taken shape over the past few years in Las Vegas the buzz has steadily grown. Anticipation for the late 2023 grand opening intensified even more this summer as Billboard reported that U2 will be the first to bring a concert to the uniquely shaped arena.

According to Billboard, 'The performances will be the first dates of a multi-show residency by the band at the high-tech arena, which is being built by Madison Square Garden Entertainment chairman James Dolan near the Venetian off the Las Vegas Strip.'

If confirmed, these performances in 2023 would come as the first U2 shows in Las Vegas since May of 2018.

Fans attending events at MSG Sphere can expect an expansive 160,000-square-foot wraparound LED display inside the venue. The the exterior of the sphere is a 580,000-square-foot fully programmable LED display. Additionally, developers promise an unmatched spatial audio sound experience.

At completion the MSG Sphere will be the largest spherical structure in the world with a capacity of up to 20,000 people.
