Jason Aldean responds to criticism over no mask Disney picture: 'Chill out'

Jason Aldean, his wife, Brittany, and four children, Navy, Memphis, Keeley and Kendyl, took a trip to the “most magical place on Earth” over the weekend and a photo from their visit to Disney World has sparked a mask debate on social media.

Aldean documented their day with a family photo taken at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

“Perfect day with my whole crew today @waltdisneyworld. There is Nothing like seeing ur kids’ faces when u walk in that place,” he wrote, also adding that they “had mask on ALLLLLLL DAAAAAAAYY except when we took this pic.”

Although the country superstar clarified that they wore their masks all day, he still took a lot of heat for the maskless photo.

“Masks?” one person questioned.

Others also chimed in asking, “Where are your masks?”

“What? Really…..have you seen the numbers of Covid cases in Florida…you risk your family and the families of others? THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!,” another Twitter user wrote.

“The pandemic isn’t over just because you’re over it,” someone else Tweeted.

While there were a lot of negative comments, there were about just as many comments with fans coming to Aldean’s defense.

“THEY TOOK THEIR MASKS OFF FOR PICTURES SHUT THE HELL UP,” one fan wrote.

“It’s actually nice seeing people without masks,” someone else commented.

Another social media user pointed out that they are holding their masks in their hands.

“Um.. since one of the kids have a mask in her hand, I’m perfectly comfortable believing the rest have masks as well, and he would NOT put his family at risk,” the Twitter user wrote. “The man has been through enough. Thank you.”

Aldean’s photo, which was shared to Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, received hundreds of comments about masks.

Brittany also shared the photo and called out that they “only took masks off for pic.”

Disney World has astrict mask policywhich states: “Face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) and Cast Members.” The policy also says that face coverings should be worn “all times, except when dining or swimming. You may remove your face covering while actively eating or drinking, but you should be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing.”

Jason Aldean recently earned his24th chart-topping single, with “Got What I Got.”
