A Danish artist was loaned $85,000 to complete a work of art for a museum, so he pocketed the money and called it art.
The Kunsten Museum of Modern Art in Denmark paid the grant to artist Jens Haaning expecting a piece for an exhibition representing annual wages for average Danes. He ended up turning in two empty frames and titled the piece, "Take the Money and Run."
Museum officials are hoping Haaning returns the money, but he is committed to his art and says, "Of course I will not pay it back. The work is that I took the money and I will not give it back."
