Meet American Song Contest’s John Morgan!

Hey! It’s me, Double-L! Have you been watching American Song Contest on NBC Monday nights? Hosted by Kelly Clarkson and Snoop DOGG, it’s a new kind of singing competition where the SONGS duke it out, STATE BY STATE! I represent the state of Arizona – woohoooo – as a Jury Member – and my vote helps put through one song/artist each week. Representing the state of North Carolina is JOHN MORGAN!

I first met John backstage at the Jason Aldean tour at Ak-Chin last October! He opened the night before Lainey Wilson and Hardy!

Get to know John by listening to the clip below – here’s what you’ll hear:

  • In the first minute of our call: John & I talk about his being signed to Jason Aldean’s personal record label
  • Next, we talk KNIX COUNTRY! John here with Jason Aldean opening the tour here last September
  • 2:00-3:00 – TAR HEELS – representing North Carolina on American Song Contest – he mentions them in his song “Right In The Middle” – did he mean to do that!?!? So cool.
  • 3:00-5:00 – discussion on John writing “If I Didn’t Love you” and how it all came about – cool story + he wrote Jason’s current single “Trouble With A Heartbreak” !!!
