We've been hearing about stores selling out of toilet paper and cleaning supplies, but why is a popular game sold out? You can blame Netflix.
Over the weekend, I binge-watched the entire season of "The Queen's Gambit" and apparently I'm not alone. It's one of the top shows on the streaming platform and has inspired a resurgence of the game chess. As a result, there is now a shortage of chess sets.
I'm not going to lie, I started to play the game again after watching the show too. It's a game of strategy and is certainly challenging, especially with a worthy opponent. And it's certainly a fun way to pass the time at home.
According to Goliath Games, chess sales are up over 1,000%!! Highly recommend this show.
Are you watching and/or playing chess again?
