Never Give Up: A Lesson In Resilience

One year ago today my job was eliminated, along with a big part of my radio family. It was part of a massive downsizing of my former company. I had spent the better part of my 25 year career working hard to get to a big city like Portland, Oregon. But after a four year run, the company was financially crippled by COVID-19 and a lot of talented people lost their jobs.

At the time, it was a devastating blow. But in reflection, it was only the closing of a chapter in my career. In fact, in some ways it was a blessing. After all, I got to spend a few months deeply entrenched in dad-mode. I'm so grateful for that time spent with my kids.

It's easy for me to say that now, but that the time I was engulfed with sleepless nights and extreme anxiety, worried about "what's next?"

Lucky for me, by mid-summer I was offered an opportunity to join the team here at 95-5 The Bull in Las Vegas. I know many others have faced similar adversity over the past year. I'm here to tell you YOU GOT THIS. Remember, God won't give you more than you can handle. True growth comes from being forced out of your comfort zone.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but KEEP GOING!

Giving up is for quitters.
