While just about anybody can be on Twitter right now, there soon be a more exclusive version of the social media site, although it’s going to cost you.
After tons of rumors, Twitter has confirmed they are launching a subscription service, Twitter Blue, although so far it’s only available in Canada and Australia. In Canada it costs $3.49 a month, and in Australia it costs $4.49.
So, why should anyone shell out money for something they could get for free? Well, Twitter Blue does offer a variety of exclusive “power features,” including:
- Bookmark Folders – a way to organize saved tweets to, according to Twitter, help users “manage content so when you need it, you can find it easily and efficiently."
- Undo Tweet – allows users to correct mistakes by previewing them. They’ll be able to set a timer for up to 30 seconds so they can "undo” a tweet, reply or thread.
- Reader Mode – according to Twitter, the feature makes it “easier for you to keep up with long threads on Twitter by turning them into easy-to-read text so you can read all the latest content seamlessly."
The service also offers customizable app icons, color themes and dedicated customer support. As for when it’s coming to the U.S., Twitter would only say it will be available later this year.
