It's that time of year again when the stores are filled with everything pumpkin spice flavored, coffee shops are bursting with pumpkin spice coffee creations, and everything just feels a little more cozy.
But not everyone is in love with the season spice.
Instacart released a study that determined which states ordered pumpkin spice goodies the most. The website released a map showing which states are more likely to purchase a pumpkin spice item via Instacart.
Instacart's Trends Expert Laurentia Romaniuk said:
"This year, Instacart searches for ‘pumpkin spice’ surged earlier than ever before — starting in late July — which means many people already have fall on their mind and are looking forward to seasonal flavors. Although pumpkin spice momentum has already started to pick up, searches via Instacart tend to peak at the same time each year in early October, and we expect a similar pattern this year."
According to the study, Nevadans are 15% less likely to purchase the seasonal snacks compared to the national average. Nevada isn't the least likely state, however.
Here are the top five least likely states to order pumpkin spice items, compared to the national average:
- Hawaii (-65%)
- Washington, D.C. (-49%)
- Louisiana (-42%)
- Massachusetts (-37%)
- Minnesota (-36%)
Here are the top five most likely states to order pumpkin spice items, compared to the national average:
- West Virginia (122%)
- Iowa (90%)
- North Carolina (62%)
- Ohio (60%)
- Wisconsin (58%)
