Alyssa Milano’s latest activism effort landed her in cuffs. The actress was arrested during a voter rights protest at the White House yesterday.
As the Senate gears up for a vote on the Freedom To Vote act, Milano joined the nonprofit People For The American Way’s demonstration outside the White House. The organization advocates for equal rights and constitutional liberties, and Milano says “we can’t let” states across the country try to “take away” Americans’ voting rights, sharin the #DontMuteOurVote hashtag on Twitter.
“I was just arrested for demanding the Biden Administration and the Senate to use their mandate to protect voting rights,” she writes. “We need federal law right now to protect voting rights for all Americans, no matter which state they happen to live in. It’s a cause that’s worth getting arrested for.”
