Fans Take 'Betty White Challenge,' Where You Can Help Animals in Las Vegas

Monday, January 17th would’ve been Betty White’s 100th birthday and fans are still celebrating by joining the #BettyWhiteChallenge.

Brittany Vizcarra from Paw Works appeared on TMZ to discuss the challenge. Vizcarra encouraged people to “Be like Betty,” and donate to their local animal shelters or adopt an animal.

Paw Works is an LA-based animal rescue organization that places unwanted animals from L.A. shelters into loving homes.

The #BettyWhiteChallange has caused an uptick in donations to animal shelters nationwide. The challenge is expected to pull in more donations in honor of Betty’s 100th birthday.

Even country stars Trisha Yearwood has joined the movement. Yearwood has teamed up with TalkShopLive for a live virtual event that will raise money for animals in need.

"Everybody loves Betty White. I've been reading about the influx of donations to pet charities and shelters across the nation since Betty's passing, and I think she is up there smiling so big that this is how the world is showing her how much we love her," Yearwood explains. "I am excited to be a part of the Betty White Challenge to help shine a light on the great work that rescues and shelters do, many only with volunteers and private donations of food, bedding and time."

A good Las Vegas organization is The Animal Foundation.
