Tom Brady Retires, For Real This Time

Despite an ESPN report this afternoon that NFL quarterback Tom Brady will be retiring, there are now questions about the accuracy of that report.

A short time ago Brady’s agent released a statement that the 44-year old quarterback will address his future “soon.” An earlier tweet from Brady’s company TB-12 Sports that congratulated him on his decision has now been deleted.

The statement – from Brady’s agent Tom Yee – said, “Without getting into the accuracy or inaccuracy of what’s being reported, Tom will be the only person to express his plans with complete accuracy.”

There are also reports from the sports website “The Athletic” that shortly after ESPN reported the retirement Brady contacted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to tell them that he has yet to make a decision about his future.

Brady has played professional football for 22 seasons, 20 of them with the New England Patriots, and two with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his career he has taken his teams to two Super Bowls, and won seven of them...more than any NFL team.
