Here's Which Las Vegas Post Office Will Be Open Late for Tax Day Monday

Just a heads up: you have until April 18 to file your taxes or ask for an extension.

The average refund is $3,200. And a common mistake is people putting the wrong address when dropping their returns in the mail.

CBS Money Watch analyst Jill Schlesinger recently shared tips for those who have yet to file. Schlesinger suggested that people file electronically instead of on paper to save time.

If filing an extension, Schlesinger said that people should be looking for Form 4868 at IRS.gov. This will give people a chance to extend their time to October 17.

However, check to see if you owe any money. You will still have to pay by the tax deadline.
