Sleep Is Important for Heart Health, Are You Getting Enough?

It's no secret that exercise is great for cardiovascular health, but there's good news for those who don't really like to break a sweat. Sleep is also good.

The American Heart Association has added sleep to its cardiovascular health checklist, right along with exercise and diet.

The right amount of sleep each day is essential for heart and brain health. So, what's the ideal amount of sleep? It all depends on your age.

  • 5-7 hours daily for adults.
  • 10-16 hours per day for kids ages five and younger.
  • 9-12 hours for ages 6-12 years.
  • 8-10 hours for ages 13-18 years.

I don't know about you, but I'm thinking 5-7 hours isn't enough for me. Although that's about what I'm averaging, how about you?
