When the fireworks go off, some pets get scared. That leads to a lot of pets running off or getting lost. One Las Vegas agency is helping reunite lost pets with their owners by making it less expensive to reclaim a pet.
The Animal Foundation says more pets are lost around the Fourth of July holiday than any other time of the year. Last year, her agency says it took in more than 550 lost pets who had become frightened by the fireworks displays.
This year, the Animal Foundation has rescued more than 250 pets since the beginning of the holiday weekend last Friday. So the agency is waiving the reclaim fees for all lost and stray pets through Sunday.
