Itās no secret that women still experience their fair share of unequal treatment in the workforce, and even in society in general, but there are some states that have made great strides in womenās equality. Well, now a new report reveals which states are doing the best job at just that.
To coincide with Womenās Equality Day, which is Friday, WalletHub has come out with their list of the Best and Worst States for Womenās Equality. They looked at the 50 states based on 17 key indicators in areas of workplace environment, education and health, and political empowerment. They include things like the gap between female and male executives, unemployment rates for men and women, income disparity between genders, and more.
With that in mind, New Mexico earns the honor as the best state for womenās equality, scoring a 70.03 out of 100 and landing on top for workplace environment and 10thĀ for health and education. Nevada, second overall, is tops for political environment, while Kentucky is tops for health and education.Ā

At the other end of the spectrum, Utah ranks at the bottom of the list with a score of just 31.22, coming in dead last for education and health, and in 48thĀ for political empowerment and in the bottom 10 for workplace environment.Ā
