The guys of the "Stuff They Don't Want You To Know" podcast took over iHeartLand in Fortnite and on Roblox to celebrate some of the most important people: our Teachers. During this very special episode, the trio celebrated teacher appreciation, as they talked about the teachers who changed their lives and more.
The guys also broke down a very talked about topic - why teachers aren't as valued as they should be. They explained, "The public school systems that are technically available to everybody are often understaffed. Teachers are using their own money because they care so much about their job that they will provide these, tools, teaching tools, you know, for crafts and whatever have you, at the early education days that they aren't given budgets for. Because they care so much about their students, that they go into their own pocket on these meager salaries to make sure their students are getting what they need."
They trio went on to explain that this wasn't always the case, and in the days of some of the greatest philosophers, an educator was one of the highest positions you could have. They said, "Back in the days of the Socrates and the Platos of the world, being an educator was one of the highest positions in society. The philosophy and education, right? We're very much the same thing. And we have to realize that the reason so many things exist is because of those people who are on the front lines of the nature of thought. And that's maybe the most important part of education. It's not really reciting facts or statistics. It's learning how to ask questions."
