There's some good news for people who aren't ready to say goodbye to Toys R Us.
Isaac Larian, the CEO of toy-maker MGA Entertainment, is leading a group of investors that is trying to keep the Toys R Us brand alive and keep about 400 of the company's stores open. The group has pledged $200 million and hopes to raise four times that amount through crowdfunding. The effort comes one week after the iconic toy store chain announced its plan to shutter more than 700 stores. Larian believes that saving the Toys R Us brand would be good for the toy industry.
Meanwhile, Toys R Us says its liquidation sales will start today.
