The Chris Young Café is a 240-person venue funded in-part and opens this week on Middle Tennessee State University campus in Murfreesboro. The space gives the opportunity for students to learn vital first-hand skills in live music business and production, Young said.
Young, a Murfreesboro native who studied the recording industry at MTSU in 2005, donated $50,000 to improve the space. It was previously known on campus as the Cyber Café.
Chris Young Café opens as the multi-Platinum selling Grand Ole Opry member receives a Tennessee Music Pathways maker on campus, joining the expansive statewide driving tour.
And he hopes this "stop" in his hometown helps pave prosperous paths for future generations.
