Older Millennials Are Not Happy About Being Labeled This...

Older Millennials are not taking kindly to the latest label they’ve been given. A recent “Medium” piece called “Why the Hybrid Workforce of the Future Depends on the ‘Geriatric Millennial” hit the wrong tone with the group.

An author named Erica Dhawan coined the term given to that in between group that are too old to be a regular millennial but still younger than any Gen Xers. The article, by the way, was very complimentary. It noted Cuspers, as some call them, are “comfortable with both analog and digital forms of communication” and was the “first generation to grow up with technology like a PC in their homes.” Dhawan, who’s a Cusper herself, explained in the piece “They are neither ignorant of technology nor so engrossed in it that a voicemail inspires fear.”

That “Geriatric Millennial” label though still doesn’t sit well with them and they took to social media to complain. Comments include: “Congrats, I am both insulted and inspired,” “This is the worst generational nickname of all time” and “As an older millennial and someone that has friends and family that are older millennials, this is highly offensive. This is ageist. I am literally shaking right now!!! Delete this.”

Interestingly enough, when “Medium” posted a Twitter poll, only 44-percent chose “Original Millennial” over “Geriatric Millennial.”

All is fair. Remember Gen Z slapping Baby Boomers with “Ok, Boomer?”

We aren't sure how to feel about this one! Tay who is, we'll say around this age, says she doesn't know if she's offended or inspired!
