Kelly Clarkson joined Brett Eldredge to perform the duo’s latest holiday duet — and tease new music in 2025 — on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Eldredge included “Sweet December” on his 8-track Christmas album, Merry Christmas (Welcome to the Family), which made its debut this year. Eldredge is known for lending his soulful vocals to Christmas classics throughout his career, including on albums Mr. Christmas and Glow, which inspired the name of his holiday tour that wraps up on Friday (December 20) in Nashville, Tennessee. “Sweet December” is the first time Eldredge has collaborated with Clarkson since the duo released “Under The Mistletoe” on Clarkson’s When Christmas Comes Around… in 2021. Eldredge said ahead of the performance that he’s “excited to sing with Kelly again.”
“Baby, baby, turn on the Christmas tree/ Take me home and set me free/ A blanket's good but your love's even better/ Baby, baby, put on the classic songs/ You make me wanna sing along/ Your heart's good at making me remember/ It's gonna be a sweet December”
The country star also caught up with Clarkson in a brief chat on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Tuesday (December 17). They chatted about what they love about the holiday season, and Eldredge spoke about his tour (Clarkson even suggested performing a Christmas show together next year), and what’s next in 2025.
“There’s new music,” Eldredge confirmed as the audience cheered. He said he’s “been taking a lot of time to write music,” which will “come right at the beginning of the year, and just really put som fun stuff out there.” Watch the Kelly Clarkson Show interview clip here:
