Guide To Dazzling Christmas Light Displays In Middle Tennessee

The most wonderful time of the year is right around the corner and what better way to get in the holiday spirit than to take a road trip across Middle Tennessee to see all the twinkling lights?

Dancing Lights of Christmas:

  • Open: Nov. 12 through Jan. 1
  • Address: James E Ward Agricultural Center, home of the Wilson County Fair: 1033 Sparta Pike, Lebanon, TN 37087
  • Admission: $30 per vehicle (non commercial); $30 per non-profit van/bus; $50 for limos; $100 for large commercial vehicles, motor homes, buses
  • Hours: Open 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday; Open through 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays
  • Highlights: 2.5 million lights set to music on a 2.5 mile driving route
  • Tip: Free admission for veterans, police, firefighters, healthcare workers from Nov. 12 to Nov. 67; $5 off for those who bring 3 non-perishable items Mondays and Tuesdays from Nov. 15-Dec. 7

Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center:

  • Opens: Nov.12 through Jan. 2
  • Address: 2800 Opryland Dr, Nashville, TN 37214
  • Admission: Free to walk around outside or check out the hotel indoors. Tickets are required for ice tubing, ice skating and other activities.
  • Hours: Lights come to life at dusk, but times vary for ticketed activities
  • Highlights: 3 million twinkling lights, towering Christmas trees and shimmering ornaments adorn the hotel

Iverson Avenue Letters and Lights

  • Address: Iverson Avenue (between Trinity Lane and Hart Lane right off of Gallatin) in Nashville
  • Admission: Free
  • Hours: Lights are always up
  • Highlight: The entire display was done as a family of our neighbors to really ring in the holiday season. The main part of the display is the Letters to Santa mailbox which is flagged on both sides by a light wall. Featuring many different styles of lights from blinking white to rainbow LED and colored cafe lights over the yard.
  • Tip: Bring your letter to Santa and we will make sure it finds its way to the North Pole! Rumor has it, that if you leave a return address on the envelope that the elves at the North Pole will send a letter back to you wishing you a happy holiday and thanking you for being such a good kid this year!

Cheekwood Holiday LIGHTS:

  • Open: Nov. 20 to Jan. 9
  • Address: 1200 Forrest Park Dr, Nashville, TN 37205
  • Admission: Adults: $28, Kids (3-7): $22, Children under 2 are free
  • Hours: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. every night of the week
  • Highlights: A million lights, Santa's reindeer, s’mores pits and a holiday marketplace
  • Tip: Military, first responders, and medical professionals (with valid ID) get 50% off up to 5 tickets for immediate family every Monday night on nighttime “Gardens Only” tickets using the promotion code MondayHL.

FrankTown Festival of Lights:

  • Open: Nov. 25 through Dec. 26
  • Address: Williamson County AG Expo Park: 4215 Long Ln #100, Franklin, TN 37064
  • Admission: $25 per vehicle (non-commercial); $45 for a 12-15 passenger vehicle; $100 for bus/limo/commercial
  • Hours: Open nightly from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Highlights: Thousands of sparking lights coordinated to a radio station to be enjoyed from the comfort of your car
  • Tip: Take a family phot by the 30-foot Christmas tree!

Chad's Winter Wonderland:

  • Open: Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve night
  • Address: 791 E. Old Laguardo Rd. Lebanon, TN
  • Admission: $20 per car load
  • Hours: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday; 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Highlights: 2.8 million lights on more than 4 acres
  • Tip: Tune into Mix 92.9 throughout the holiday season for special announcements

London's Lights:

  • Opens: Thanksgiving Day through Jan. 5.
  • Address: 1001 Ash Circle, La Vergne, Tenn.
  • Admission: Free, however guests are invited to bring toys that will be donated to kids
  • Hours: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. each weeknight
  • Highlights: Traditional Christmas lights display in honor of London, a toddler killed in a tragic accident

Hoover Lights:

  • Opens: Opening night is the Friday after Thanksgiving. The final show of the season will be on New Year’s Eve.

  • Hours: 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly
  • Highlights: 80,000 lights synchronized to music
  • Tip: Tune into 107.1 FM to hear the synchronized Christmas music

  • Opens: Nov. 26 through Christmas season

  • Admission: Free
  • Hours: From 6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Mon., Tues., Thurs.; 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm Fri. & Sat., and from whenever church services end on Wed. and Sun. to 10 p.m.
  • Highlights: Dancing lights set to music
  • Tip: Park across the street in the church parking lot & make sure to turn your headlights off when watching the show!

Christmas on the Cumberland:

  • Opens: Nov. 23 through Jan. 2

  • Admission: Free
  • Hours: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday & Saturday
  • Highlights: 2 million lights put on by the City of Clarksville stretching over seven-tenths of a mile along the McGregor Park Riverwalk.
  • Tip: Go visit Santa and Mrs. Claus from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 11 and Dec. 18

Ultimate Party Festival of Lights:

  • Opens: Dec. 5 through holiday season
  • Address: Memorial Park 151 E Main Street Hendersonville and Various Locations throughout Hendersonville
  • Admission: Free
  • Hours: Dark until 9 p.m. each day
  • Highlights: A drive-through light display at Memorial Park in Hendersonville that also offers a map of the best light displays in the City of Hendersonville for people to drive around town and enjoy.
  • Tip: Go out to the Christmas parade, tree lighting ceremony and fireworks display on Dec. 5 for the official kickoff of the Ultimate Party Festival of Lights. Live entertainment at the event includes Craig Campbell, Jason Eskridge and Hannah Dasher.

Winton's Light Display:

  • Opens: First week in December
  • Address: 55 Haskell Winton Road, Manchester, Tenn.
  • Admission: Free, however guests are invited to bring monetary donations for a local charity
  • Hours: 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
  • Highlights: Half a million lights that dance to music on 103.1 FM.
  • Tip: This display has been featured on national television and is a "must-see"

XLightsTN:

  • Open: Now through the holiday season
  • Address: 535 Shute Ln, Hendersonville, TN 37075
  • Admission: Free
  • Hours: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. nightly
  • Highlights: 25,000 lights with a 8' video screen and 22' tall video Megatree powered by XLights
  • Tip: Pull into the driveway or on the grass

  • Highlights: Animated lights set to music. Tune in to 87.9 FM to "listen to the lights"

Lute’s Lights:

  • Open: Now until Jan. 2
  • Address: 317 Harpeth Valley Road, Nashville, TN 37221
  • Admission: Free
  • Hours: 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
  • Highlights: The yard is filled with 100's of Christmas items in fun, holiday scenes
  • Tip: On Dec. 4 and 5, the display will be having a drive by Food Drive for Second Harvest Food Bank. If folks enjoy the lights, they're encouraged to drop off either a donation of food or a financial donation for Second Harvest from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night.
